Authors Preface
During my past years in the Martial Arts, I developed an idea of what I thought a complete Art might be. Through diligent searching I became fascinated with the seemingly unlimited art of Ninjustu. After much sacrifice and hardship, I finally fulfilled my dream of being accepted as a student in the art of Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu in Japan. Training in the Art and finally receiving Black Belt was a thrill unmatched by any I had known before.
To be a student of Ninjutsu, you must concentrate all focus and attention in the direction you are moving. If you want it to be. It will be. All possibilities exist in the Art. However, the dedication comes from deep inside, not from the tongue.
My students strive for a tri-unity. The body is disciplined through combat, weapons, drills, etc. The mind is sharpened through exercises, test, relaxation and focus. Some students gain an appreciation of the spiritual through admission, acceptance and final realization that man-self is not Good. This book contains no meditational exercises, Kuji-in, mind control tactics or any form of basic or advanced metal-spiritual techniques. It was written purely for the purpose of giving the reader a guide to proper body positioning and stance. If you can, grasp the natural movement of the Art, work with it, repeat it, and mold it until it becomes instinct.
Not all the contents in this book are traditional in nature. Some modernization and personal modifications have been added to update the Art as it is practiced today in my Dojo's.
It is my intent that this book be a stepping-stone that enables you to become all that you believe Martial Arts should be.
